The founding principle of the Teaching School is to support any schools to raise standards for students. This commitment transcends competition between schools and supports the community in giving the best possible opportunities to young people. We offer highly tailored sessions for schools who strive to reach outstanding levels of teaching and learning consistently and work with schools on specific areas for improvement.

How we can help:

  • Addressing weaknesses identified by Ofsted by providing additional leadership capacity to improve the quality of teaching and learning in specific subjects, year groups or with individual teachers
  • Providing an executive headteacher to work with a federation or similar organisation of schools
  • Bringing about improvements in the data analysis undertaken by schools
  • Raising attainment and standards by closing the gap identified vulnerable and underachieving groups
  • Assisting schools in developing and implementing policies designed to bring about school improvement
  • Providing an acting headteacher in a challenging school
  • Acting as sponsor for a converted academy
  • Leading a chain of academies

COSTS INVOLVED: you will need to pay the Teaching School for a Specialist leader of Education's (SLE) time. Payment for SLE services is negotiated by you and the Teaching School

TIME COMMITMENT FOR YOU AND YOUR SCHOOL: this will vary according to the project, level of support required and number of staff involved.
